Maddie Myers is a personal trainer and group fitness instructor based in New York City. Maddie advocates for a departure from short-term, narrow-minded approaches to fitness and instead strives to empower individuals to find enjoyable, sustainable movement that enhances their life.
From a young age, Maddie cultivated a love and appreciation for movement through dance. She performed a wide variety of styles including tap and pointe, with her favorite being hip-hop, and spent multiple summers at the Joffrey Ballet School, Jazz and Contemporary intensive. Despite her skill and athleticism, Maddie never felt like an athlete. It wasn’t until her freshman year of college that she stepped foot in a gym for the first time, and she remembers having to scan the instructions for every weight machine as she slowly transitioned from treadmills to the strength floor.
Exercise initially provided Maddie with newfound confidence but also as a coping mechanism for her anxiety. Using the gym as a place to find control over her life and body, she never quite felt like it was enough. She spent years trying to find this elusive “self-discipline” the wellness industry boasts, and she felt a desperate need to change herself. However, that all changed when she took her first spin class, bringing her back to the joy of movement. That spin studio would also be her first group fitness position while still in college.
After earning a degree in finance and accounting, Maddie moved to the city to embark on a career path in public accounting, but it didn’t take long to realize her true passion lay elsewhere. Believing fervently that change is needed in the fitness industry, she quit studying for the CPA and instead earned her NASM CPT in December 2021.
Maddie knows firsthand the challenges of navigating a fitness culture that often promotes changing ourselves rather than enhancing ourselves. Through personalized training programs, compassionate guidance, and unwavering support, Maddie invites you to embark on a journey towards discovering the joy of movement, the power of perseverance, and the boundless potential of the human body.
